Improve your business English at SPIBAs English Speaking Club this evening at 7 p.m. with the help of native speakers, who can help explain seemingly confusing business idioms.

St. Petersburg Design Week kicks off today and will be ongoing through May 28. Interior, fashion, jewelry and urban designers, among individuals from many other fields within the design industry, will be on hand to deliver lectures, lead workshops and contribute their collective wisdom to those hoping to break into the business.

Thursday, May 22

SPIBAs HR Committee has organized a discussion on the prospects of personnel leasing in Russia in order to prepare local businesses for changes in the federal law on contingent labor to be adopted in 2016. The discussion begins at 9:30 a.m. and will be held in SPIBAs office at 21 Nevsky Prospekt. All who wish to attend should register for the event by May 21.

A number of the world's top business leaders are in St. Petersburg today through May 24 for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum at the LenExpo Convention Center. Directors, managers and world leaders will discuss the most pressing topics facing their respective industries while striking deals and building relations.

Athletes will relish the chance to get the latest gear and try out something new at I Choose Sport, an annual event at Lenexpo forum that plans to welcome more than 30,000 people this week to the international exhibition center. Not only will visitors get to try their hand at various athletic endeavors but they will also be able to peruse equipment that can fulfill their dreams of becoming a champion.

Check out retro and antique cars at Fort Konstantin on Kronstadt Island in the Gulf of Finland at FORTuna, a yearly car festival that highlights the eccentricities of the Soviet automobile industry. A car race, contests and a stunt show will give visitors a chance to rev their engines.
